Untitled (Neck Piece #2)

The Untitled (Neck Piece #2) uses a classic neck piece structure to highlight the complexity of the Hydrangea seedpod inspired shapes. The developed top surface of the pod form is repeated as an element of transition into the visually impactful yet simple wire across the wearer's neck holding the piece secure against their body and creating a moment of visual rest. The density of the forms and shapes created in the negative space as the shapes layer, mimic the intrigue of a dense forest, or group of buds on the same branch. This repetition, with slight variations due to working by hand, captures the dynamic life which originally drew me to seedpod forms.
